Age
requirement: Those playing on the middle school
team must be
no
older than 14 on Oct. 16, 2009 and be a 7th or 8th grade student. Those
playing on varsity must be no older than 18 on Sept. 1, 2009,
and have not graduated from high school.
Skill level:
Some hardball league experience (Little League, Jr. League,
Middleschool High school, etc.) is required.
Cost: $85 per month (March,
April, & May), $50 for additional children. Cost includes all
practices and regular season games. Cost does NOT include tournament
fees, special clinic fees, liability fees, and uniforms.
Note: We can offer fund raising opportunities for those families who would like to raise money toward their game fee costs.
Practices:
We have the following practice times available. The number of practices
per week will be determined by games on the schedule for that week. For
most of the season we try to limit the total number of games and
practices per week to 3.
Mondays: 12:00 to 2:00 or 3:00 to 5:45
Tuesday: 3:30 - 5:45 Wilder’s Grove
Fridays: 3:00 - 5:45 Wilder’s Grove
Saturdays: 10:00 to 12:30 Wilder’s Grove
Equipment:
All players should provide their own helmet, bat and glove. Protective
cups are mandatory. We are asking all players to purchase an additional
wooden bat for practices. Also uniform fees DO NOT inculde pants, belt
or socks.
Middleschool Games:
We have been invited to play again in a public middleschool league (16
games) and may have a few out of league games. Most games are played on
Mondays and Thursdays. The first game is Monday, March 1.
Varsity Games:
The Raleigh Hawks Varsity have about 15 regular season games on their
schedule beginning with Durham Academy on Thursday, March 4. The Hawks
also hope be attending the regionals for the Homeschool World Series,
in April 26 to May 1, and the NC State Homeschool Championships, May
13-15..
Registration deadline: Please register by Monday, Feb. 2
Fundraising: Should costs exceed our budget. A team fund-raiser may be required to help cover expenses.

Take HWY 64/264 East to New Hope Rd. Go north on New Hope and
proceed across Business 64/New Bern. Go to the next light (Willow Oak)
and turn left. The entrance to Wilder’s Grove is on the left.
