Varsity 2010 - 2011

Welcome to our eleventh season of Hawks boys basketball. We're a NCHEAC "Right To Switch" basketball team with a full season of private and homeschool games scheduled including a trip to the East Coast Homeschool Championships at Liberty University in March 2012. Our program is run and led by Christian homeschool dads who desire to build godly character in their boys that is not only reflected on the court but also in their overall walk with Christ.

The regular season begins on October 1 and  ends in February 2012 with the North Carolina State Homeschool Basketball Championships.  For our postseason, we plan to attend the Eastern Homeschool Basketball Championships at Liberty University in Lynchburg, Va.

Tryout Time & Location
Friday, Sept. 30th 6:00 to 8:00 All new & returning players must attend the tryouts.

We are holding tryouts for all 3 levels:  Boys middle school, junior varsity, and high school.  All new and returning players must attend the tryouts.  Please respond to this e-mail if you plan to attend.

Eligibility Requirements:
All players must be registered with the NCDNPE. by the first seasonal game.
Middleschool: 13 & under as of Sept. 1, 2011
Junior Varsity: 16 & under as of Sept. 1, 2011
Varsity: 18 & under as of Sept. 1, 2011

*Because of the number of scheduled games, beginning in November, we may practice only one day on a particular week. Or because of a game falling on a practice day, there may be an additional practice offered on a different day at a different location. (See schedule below)

Costs
• Monthly practice/game fees: $100 per JV/V player (second child $75), $90 for middleschool (second child $75) . Does not include tournament or post season play, uniforms or travel expenses. Fees should be paid on the first practice of each month. Payments run Oct through March.
• Fund-raising: In order to meet the increased rental fees and added number of the home school league games for 2011-12, each family (not each player) will be required to raise $100 at our 3-point shoot out contest on Monday, Dec. 19. Families may opt out of the fund raiser and pay an additional $20 per month in fees (per family, notper player).
• Liability fee $15
• Practice Jersey $12
• Admission fees: Most games (including some of our own home games), charge an admission fee for spectators. We will try to let you know the admission fees prior to each game. All admission fees are paid at the door.
• Tournaments Fees. There will be a per player costs for all tournaments to cover the Hawk’s entry fee and the coach’s travel and lodging. Commitment to the Hawks program includes participation in the Regional, State and East Coast tournament. Please check the schedle for these tournaments. If you think you are NOT going to be able to participate in a particular tournament, please clear this with the head coach BEFORE joining the team.
• Team uniforms are mandatory. We plan to buy new uniforms for all teams this season. Cost to be determined.
