Parents Meeting Summary:
As of now, because of a lack of homeschool players in our program, we
will only be entering a varsity team in the NCHE homeschool
league.
That means only the varsity will participate in the season ending
regional tournament in February. However, having said that, I
am
waiting until the last day of the grace period (Nov 25) to declare, in
case God intervenes and gives us a few surprise homeschool players.
If it goes as planned, the middleschool will play all the
non-conference games AND against other homeschool teams on the
schedule, but the homeschool games won't be official league
games.
The middleschool team won't be able to play in the regional tournament
but will be able to enter the East Coast tournament in March.
The jv will be a combination of players from the middleschool and
varsity teams. They will play all the non-conference games ANDhomeschool teams that don't have a varsity team,
but the homeschool games won't be official league games.
As in the past with our swimming, baseball and basketball programs, we
are allowing a few non-homeschool players to play on the Hawks this
season. These players can only compete in non-homeschool or
non-conference games. This is done as an outreach to other
boys who
don't have an opportunity to play elsewhere. To be eligible
they must
respect the Christian principles of team and agree to practice at least
once a week with the club. This year, the added players will help our
varsity team to better compete against some of the elite
programs we
have on the non-homeschool part of the schedule (i.e. Bull City
Classic, Mt. Zion, Upper Room). Last year, we had Marcus
Gaines in our
program who at 6-5 was a nationally ranked high school football
player. He presence at practices helped prepare the varsity
to play
homeschool teams with taller players and he was a welcome help as a
center in our non-conference game against Mt.
Zion.

Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits; Who pardons
all our iniquities; Who heals all your diseases; Who redeems your life
from the pit; Who crowns you with lovingkindness and compassion; Who
satisfies your years with good things, so that your youth is renewed
like the eagle. -Psalm 103:1-5
